Tiled convection oven

Scheme of the circulation furnaceConvection oven
In convection tiled stoves, a brickwork is built around the metal combustion chamber and an additional heating box made of cast iron or sheet metal matched to it.. This' brickwork’ can be both made of fireclay elements and plastered masonry, as well as a tiled coat. Granite is also suitable for shaping the outer surface, marble and ceramic materials.
In convection tiled stoves, there is a hole in the area of the plinth, through which air enters the furnace and flows further between the metal core and the brickwork. It heats on the hot surface of the metal core, rises upwards and through the grille or ventilation tiles returns to the living room. As a result of this flow, convection is created in the room (air circulation), thanks to which the process of heating the air is relatively short. However, this furnace quickly cools down after the fire on the hearth has expired.. Brickwork or tile coat heats up slowly, and the latter has a small accumulation capacity for this. The bricklaying warms up only with longer heating cycles and then gives off the heat of radiation. If there is a grate in the combustion chamber, the tiled stove can also be fired with coal. However, it is important to remember, that when burning coal, the emission of harmful substances is much higher than when using wood.
Heating cartridges for gas or oil combustion are also available. High-quality heating inserts are well lined with fireclay fittings, although this increases the heating time of the air in the room.
Increasingly, inserts without grates are used and thus are only suitable for burning wood, which is laid in them directly on the foundation of the furnace. Wood burning follows the same principle, what we got to know in foundation furnaces. Because metal surfaces quickly transfer their heat to the air, the temperature of the combustion chamber is slightly lower here than in the foundation furnace. In an additional heating box, the exhaust gases give off the next portion of heat, which is also used to heat the room. The circulating tiled stove allows you to obtain high heating power from a relatively small area.
