Ordinary concrete

Ordinary concrete

Portland cement or metallurgical cement is used as binders for making ordinary concretes. Sand is used as aggregate, gravel, grits and mixtures of mineral aggregates. To modify the structure and properties of concrete, various admixtures are used: Mineral (for example. fly ash), plasticizing, aeration, accelerating bonding (ensuring rapid strength gain in conditions of reduced temperature – for example. when concreting in winter), delaying binding and hardening, Sealing (ensuring water resistance). Some admixtures perform several functions at the same time, e.g.. plasticizing and aeration, plasticizing and retardant.

Ordinary concrete has high strength, but little thermal insulation capacity. It is a material for the construction of load-bearing elements of the structure (beams, poles, floor slabs, etc.).
