Function characteristics in sound emission systems

■ DQR (Digital Quality Reception) determines how the tuner works, using digital signal processing. Currently, VHF waves are excessively crowded. Radio station signals interfere and mix with others, Adverse reactions. Stronger transmitters can interfere with weaker ones, adjacent stations. The VHF signal also tends to "sway". Scattered and distorted reflections of radio waves reach the antenna. Digital processing and processing of the received signal effectively eliminate interference, interference and synchronize delayed signals.

■ RDS (Radio Data System) — this system provides a lot of information related to FM received programmes. The following data can be displayed on the tuner display:

— PS (Programme Service Name) — names of stations and programmes,

— CT (Clock Time) — exact time and date,

— PTY (Typical program) — categories of programmes (the tuner automatically searches for stations that broadcast the user's selected program types),

— RT (Radio Text) — programme titles, texts and other data broadcast by radio stations.

■ RDS EON - this function allows you to listen to the selected station while the tuner searches for information about the traffic situation, broadcast by other stations. If such information is found, then the tuner automatically switches to it. When the receiving of certain information is completed, the tuner switches to another station, which conveys information of the same type. This is possible thanks to the coding of appropriate categories of programs (for example. pop or rock music) PTY codes.

■ Battery Charge Indicator - This indicator indicates the battery status.

■ Stereo Recording (Stereo Recording) — enables stereo recording in the natural environment and on the move.

■ VZRS (Voice Zoom Recording System) works in voice recorders. Eliminates low and high frequencies and amplifies the middle frequency band, embracing the human voice causing, that the recordings sound clear and clean.

■ Auto Reverse - This feature mainly applies to stationary tape recorders and some tape recorders and personal radios. Allows tape playback in both directions. There are three possible options for this function:

• endless playback, consisting in automatic playback of the other side of the cassette after the completion of playback of one side (this cycle is repeated continuously until the tape recorder is switched off);

• one-time playback of both sides of the cassette, relying on this, that after playing the first page of the cassette, the tape recorder plays the other side and stops;

• manual change of direction, allows you to immediately change the direction of the belt, regardless of the place on the tape.

■ CD-Changer - indicates a device that automatically changes CDs. Allows convenient disc loading and quick access to them. In addition, when playing one disc, you can change the others, which allows you to play music without interruptions.

■ E.A.S.S. (Electronic Anti-shock System) - Prevents audio from jumping under external vibration in CD players (CD), for example. while driving a car. This effect is possible thanks to the use of additional memory, in which a signal from twice as fast a reading is periodically collected.

■ Ear Logic Desing - Applies to headphone design. The angle of the handset body is ergonomically adapted to the human ear, which reduces the pressure on the ear and causes, that the sound does not spread beyond the headphones. This design allows you to listen to music for a long time without getting tired.

■ Pipephone Headphones - Applies to in-ear and headset design. The design of the earpiece in the shape of an inclined "U" is based on the principle of operation of the organ pipe. Superbly enhances heavy bass reproduction through wide and smooth output for sounds. These headphones, thanks to a precisely designed electromagnetic circuit with an oscillator, are characterized by exceptional dynamics.

In addition to the listed functions, the radio equipment can be equipped with many other devices, that enrich the capabilities of the equipment, for example.:

• enabling mixing of recordings, Ie. mixing and combining several soundtracks, including microphone, during the realization of one recording;

• digital echo, Ie. device enabling the formation of the "echo" effect, operating in a digital system;

• memory, allowing you to remember the reception parameters of many radio stations;

• programmer, enabling the programming of the reception, recording and playback at any time.

Similarly working functions can sometimes have different names, depending on the equipment manufacturer.
